Joey Logano Wins Nationwide At Chicagoland

Just a quick post here between things to let you know that Joey Logano got his 3rd Nationwide win of the year last night at Chicagoland Speedway. This is just 2 weeks after getting his first Sprint Cup win at New Hampshire.

I did get to see a lot of the race but probably only paid attention towards the end.

At the second caution on lap 185 Logano stayed out on the track while most of the other drivers pitted. I believe Logano’s tires were something like 34 laps older than most other drivers.

Another caution on lap 192 and Logano obviously stayed out.

And restarting behind Logano was teammate Kyle Busch.

On the restart Busch got up to Joey pretty easily. In fact it looked like Kyle on new tires was going to dominate. After only a lap or two of trying to get around Logano, Kyle Busch started falling off. Kyle was amazed due to the fact Logano was on old tires.

“I can’t believe it, dude — he’s driving away from me!” Busch radioed after the final restart.

For a couple of minutes it was pretty exciting seeing the teammates go at it and waiting to see what happened.

The top 13 in points including Logano in 5th and Kyle Busch in 1st did not change at all after last nights race.
