Looks Like Danica Patrick Will Be Working On A NASCAR Career

Reports are coming out that Danica Patrick will be getting into the NASCAR ranks in 2010. It also looks like the master plan will be for her to race with Stewart-Haas Racing, at least how I am reading into it.

I have been reading that Danica will running in a significant number of Nationwide races next year as well as some Camping World Truck Series races. On top of that she will be getting some seat time in the ARCA series as well.

Sounds like 2010 could be a very busy year for Danica as she gets familiar with stock cars and competes in a full Indy schedule.

Her probable move to NASCAR is being compared to Tony Stewart’s move when he ran a full Indy schedule in 1998 while running 22 Nationwide series.

Stewart also fully believes that Danica will land in the Sprint Cup Series full time in the near future.

“I can pretty much guarantee at some point she’s going to be over here,” Stewart told reporters Saturday at Atlanta Motor Speedway, meaning NASCAR in general and hinting at something the source confirmed and clarified.

“She doesn’t have some misguided idea that it’s going to be easy,” Stewart said. “She wants to do it the right way. She has the intention of doing everything right.”

As far as what team she will be racing for is kind of up in the air I believe. Stewart does not have any Nationwide cars or Truck series trucks in his garage so speculation is being thrown out there that she will race for Dale Earnhardt Jr’s JR Motorsports or more likely Kevin Harvick INC. Both of these teams have cars and trucks to get the job done.

I also read that Danica’s first stock car race will more than likely come at Daytona International Speedway in the ARCA Series during Speed Weeks in 2010. If she can survive that crashfest she may have a chance.

Personally I am not a big Danica Patrick fan and could care less if she came over to NASCAR.

And while it is not overwhelming the pole results on the right hand side of this page indicate that others don’t really want to see her come to NASCAR as well. 45% of voters don’t want to see Danica come to NASCAR while 39% say they do want to see here in NASCAR and 16% have no opinion. I voted NO in that poll but I could really have voted no opinion as well, but I lean more towards NO.

Also, since she will more than likely end up at Stewart-Haas Racing when she goes to Cup racing I am against her coming. I am a Stewart-Haas, Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman fan. I just have a gut feeling she won’t fit in over there that well and I can think of other drivers that I would like to see join that stable.
