Road Trip, Turkey And Moving

Just a short note to let all know I have not abandoned this site! Things this past week or week and a half have been very busy.

The day Jimmie Johnson won his 4th consecutive Sprint Cup Championship is when it really started. That was my 2 year old daughters birthday party. I missed most of the race with the party and family. I had no problem missing most of the race for her birthday. She made out like bandit and loved every second of it.

2 days later we expectantly started moving. Not really expectantly, we have know about it for months. But we did not think that the people we bought our new house from were going to be out of the house until Thanksgiving at the latest.

On top of that we were going to be out of town Turkey Day visiting my family in Iowa.

So the people get out of our house early so we start making trips to our new house. Trailer load here and a trailer load there. That was Monday and Tuesday.

Thank goodness work let me rearrange my vacation a little.

Then Wednesday we headed to Iowa. Had a great Thanksgiving with my family, did family pictures on Friday as well as a bonfire at my Brothers that night (some beer consumption may have happened).

Saturday morning we got up and started our 9 hour trip home (old house). When we got home we put the kids to bed and my wife and I did some more packing.

Sunday was the final “big load”. Up at about 6am and started. We were all “moved” to the new house by 1pm I think.

And that is all we have been doing since. Unpacking, playing with the kids in their new rooms, “working” in my new HUGE (at least for me) garage. Doing some minor repairs and all the other stuff that goes along with all of that.

Needless to say, I have kept up on 0 (ZERO) NASCAR or other news except that I heard Tiger Woods wrecked a car. I am big into politics and couldn’t even tell you what has happened in the last week or so.

So, while things may seem a little dead here…..I am a little busy at the moment.

But talk about perfect timing! All this right after the NASCAR season ended.
